A fresh season deserves a fresh start. Our spring and fall clean up services clear out leftover leaves, twigs, and other tree debris so your lawn and flower beds can breathe again. We cut back ornamental grasses and perennial plants like hostas, daylilies, coneflowers, and sedum so your landscape heads into the next season looking clean, healthy, and ready to grow. Homeowners use our yard clean up service to stay ahead of seasonal stress and keep their yard maintained year round.
Spring Cleanup
Spring clean up is more than clearing a few leaves. It sets the foundation for a healthy growing season. Removing leftover debris improves airflow around plants, which helps prevent moisture buildup that leads to fungus, rot, and early season disease. Cutting back perennials at the right time also reduces hiding spots for insects that overwinter in old stems, keeping pest pressure lower as temperatures warm up. Clearing flower beds in early spring gives new growth clean soil contact, better light, and the space it needs to come in strong.
If you are looking for a lite maintenance plan that covers your yard’s basic chores, check out our Grasshuggers Lite Yard Plan, which includes spring clean up.
Fall Cleanup
Our fall yard clean up service is based on cultural practices that keep your flower beds looking clean, open, and well maintained going into winter. We remove spent plants such as hostas, coneflowers, and other perennial plants common in Central Ohio. During this service we also cut back any ornamental grasses to keep the beds tidy and ready for the colder months ahead. If paired with our leaf service, we can also clear leaves to prevent heavy layers from settling in with services like leaf pickup, leaf mulching, and leaves to curb.
If you would like us to take care of your yard’s seasonal needs all season long, check out our Grasshuggers Plus Yard Plan.
Winter Prep
Our winter prep is a horticultural pruning practice that improves airflow and helps summer blooming shrubs grow stronger in the coming season. Pruning in late winter lets us remove older, damaged, diseased, and crossed branches while the plant structure is easy to see and before new growth starts. For older shrubs that are more likely to split or bend under snow, this process may be done in the fall instead to help prevent snow damage and breakage. Our winter pruning service focuses on creating airflow, stimulating new growth, and controlling plant size. Homeowners who want to learn more about proper winter pruning can review the guide provided by Ohio State University.

Overgrown Landscape Cleanup
Some yards need more than a standard spring or fall cleanup. When beds are overgrown, crowded, or full of last year’s leftover growth, our overgrown landscape cleanup service gives your yard a fresh reset. This service can take care of properties that have gone a season or two, or even years without maintenance.
We remove tangled or smothering plant material, clear out neglected areas, and open up the beds so the viable, healthy plants can breathe and grow again. This is ideal for homeowners who have fallen behind on upkeep or those who just purchased a home and want a clean starting point. Once everything is brought back to a manageable state, our Grasshuggers Complete Yard Plan can take care of the ongoing maintenance needed to keep your landscape under control all season long.
Once an overgrown, out of control landscape is restored to a manageable state, we can work with you on reducing bed sizes, returning areas to turf for less maintenance, or completely revisioning your outdoor space to create a design that fits your vision for how you want the space to look and feel. A 2024 Cinch Home Services survey shows that over a quarter of today’s homeowners hate weeding garden beds. We can renovate your landscape to create a low maintenance, high impact design so you can spend your time enjoying how it looks without being overwhelmed by constant upkeep. If you want a full redesign, our landscape design service can create your custom design.
